The Celebration Calendar is a project dedicated to gathering traditions which were designed to pass our ancestor’s knowledge down the generations and creating an Image of a lifestyle that would allow us to apply this knowledge in the modern world.
1. Knowledge that we have but either forgot or forget to apply:
Celebrations are a massive and complex source of knowledge, the Celebrations Calendar project covers such areas as Traditions, Celebrations, Education, Health, Dance, Song, Recipes, Rites, Games, Martial arts, Tales, Art and Craft.
2. The vision of everyday healthy life:
To envision ancient celebrations one needs to first understand the lifestyle that existed in healthy cultures. Singing and dancing were not just something people did during celebrations - they were everyday activities just as feelings of joy and happiness were everyday conditions. This is not a product of imagination, and this is not impossible.
Consider this: in the past people lived on the land, they ate very well, they took fresh quality food, pure water and clean air for granted. One of the best proofs of effortless lifestyle comes from the latest research in permaculture. This research proved that the sustainable life does not require much effort from a human being: nature is already designed in such a way that it is possible to create a garden capable to survive and heal itself when needed, while also feeding a large family without ever occupying their thoughts on thinking about food and survival.
Celebrations Calendar is an online Library on a Wiki-engine designed to be build by community. Everyone can participate by submitting and editing articles on the official site of the project. To submit an article you would need to register on http://www.celebrationscalendar.com. Note that the editor team will review and approve every article.
Each article as part of the Celebrations Calendar is approved based on the quality of writing style and the type of information it contains. The information in it must include one or more of the following:
